EGEE induction Grid training for users

As a part of EGEE-III NA3 activities, a one day user-oriented training event has been organized by SCL at the Institute of Physics Belgrade on September 19, 2008. The aim of the training was to provide users with basics of Grid computing and gLite services. The participants are also given introduction to EGEE-III, and an overview of SEE-GRID-SCI project and AEGIS activities. Basic usage of the gLite middleware is presented in several hands-on sessions with demonstrations. New SCL posters and video material

SCL takes active participation in the month-long public outreach event focusing on the science and technology behind the LHC. The central venue of the exhibition is at the Gallery of Science and Technology of the Serbian Academy of Science and Arts (SASA). Among other contributions to this event, SCL has designed and developed two new posters and a short video presentation of the recent upgrade of its AEGIS01-PHY-SCL Grid site.

Aleksandar Belic gave an invited talk at the FIS'07 HEP conference (Fundamental Interactions Serbia) held in Fruska Gora, Serbia. The talk "Pan-European Grid e-Infrastructure for LHC experiments at CERN - SCL's activities in EGEE" focused on the use of Grid computing as a crucial tool in modern High Energy Physics.
