As a deputy Grid manager of Academic and Educational Grid Initiative of Serbia (AEGIS), SCL's Dusan Vudragovic participated in the EGI operations activity kickoff meeting held at Amsterdam's Science Park on 3 and 4 June 2010. He presented the current status of AEGIS transition to the new NGI-based Grid operations model. He also gave an overview of the Serbian Grid Infrastructure during the second day of the meeting, which was dedicated to South-East and Central Europe NGI presentations.
Technical details of EGI operations management tasks, coordinated by EGI-Inspire project Service Activity 1 (SA1), were explored during the workshop trough numerous presentations and discussions. Built upon the inherited experience of EGEE series of projects, EGI SA1 activity structure is based on mutually dependent tasks ensuring: secure infrastructure, service deployment validation, infrastructure for grid management, accounting and helpdesk infrastructures, support teams, and provision of reliable grid infrastructure for end user communities.
